Wine at the Wedding

Try these Lovely Wines

Ever growing in popularity, wine is fast becoming one of the most popular choices for alcoholic beverages served at Weddings.

In the early New Testament times it was said that Jesus Himself blessed the wine at the wedding, turning water into wine. As the story is told there wasn’t enough wine to serve all of the guests and Jesus prayed over the water and there was plenty of wine to go around.

Further scriptural references show referred to saving the best wine for later and serving the cheaper wine at the wedding first. The idea appeared to be to use the cheaper wines to warm up the guests at the party and then let them have a taste of the really good stuff.

You can do the same at your celebration, serve plenty of wine spiked punch and save a bottle of champagne for the Bride and Groom toast!

Provide a Variety of Wines if You Want a More Elegant Affair

Robust flavored red wines such as Barefoot Merlot or Barefoot Cabernet are tasty and mellow at a relatively low cost of about $7 per bottle. Provide both white and red wines along with a rose’ for a lighter wine.

For larger crowds try Trader Joe’s wines which are made in Napa Valley and sold at various locations across the country. These can be had for less than $5.

There’s always box wines and they aren’t even cheap these days. A typical box of wine is about $11-12 per box these days.
